I have been using Bossen purees for a few years now to make fruit enhanced iced tea, gourmet ice creams, and Italian sodas. So I get this email SPAM from Bossen. This Mulberry syrup is a new product of theirs which the email was promoting. I had no idea what mulberries taste like so a friend of mine that grows some on his property gave me some to taste and the flavor reminds me of a sweeter version of a blackberry.

So since I love Bossen, I ordered a jug. It arrived yesterday and when they day ended, it was time to try it. I made an Italian soda using a small amount (about 2/3 of an inch in the bottom of the glass) with some club soda. The first thing I noticed after the rich purple-blue color was the pieces of fruit in the syrupy puree. I stirred and the pieces of fruit swirled around the glass before I put in the ice. The flavor was fantastic. It was not familiar to be but not strange either. It had the blackberry taste of the fresh mullberries my buddy gave me but then it had a blueberry flavor as well which it finished with. The flavor was pronounced with the tart and sweet combining nicely.

If I am being honest here this is probably the best product I have yet purchased from Bossen in my humble opinion. And I do love the pieces of pureed fruit in it. At a local restaurant called Jim 'N Nick's, they sell sweet iced tea with fruit. Peach and Raspberry iced tea which have tiny pieces of real fruit in them. That was my inspiration for using these syrups instead of sugar to make sweet tea at home. Anyway I love that rustic touch of having tiny flakes of real fruit in my drinks and this flavor of syrup delivers that. I am very satisfied with this product and I highly recommend it.
